Visa Requirements & How to Apply

A complete applicant guide to eligibility, required documents, fees, and the step-by-step application process for the Ghana eVisa.

1 About the Ghana eVisa

The Ghana eVisa portal provides an online process for eligible travellers who require a Ghana visa for permitted travel purposes, including tourism and business.

The application process is completed online. Applicants should provide accurate information, upload genuine and legible supporting documents, complete any applicable payment, and monitor the application dashboard and registered email address.

2 Check Your Eligibility Before Applying

Ghana's eVisa process distinguishes between visa-free entry, Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) eligibility and eVisa requirements. Eligibility depends on nationality, passport type and applicable government policy. Use the official eligibility checker before starting an application.

EligibilityWhat it meansWhat to do
Visa-FreeThe traveller is eligible to enter Ghana without obtaining a visa, subject to applicable entry conditions.Check the current visa-free list and applicable passport category.
See: ECOWAS & AES Nationals
ETAThe traveller is eligible for an Electronic Travel Authorisation.Follow the ETA process displayed by the official portal.
